Summer Bodies Are Made In Winter

As if you needed another reason to treat yourself!

Winter is coming!

Although it may be time to start locking yourself indoors with blankets and a warm, toasty fire blazing, you may have a new reason to venture out into the wilderness this winter. This time of year is perfect for skin treatments! The lack of sun exposure we face in the darker months is beneficial to healing time.

This goes for multiple treatments too! Let us tell you about a few of them so you can be sure not to miss out.

Also, if you want glowing skin or to be hair-free by summer, now is the time to get your sessions in to ensure you’re ready for your holidays!

Let’s have a look more specifically at why this time of year is so good for these treatments.

Laser hair removal

Due to laser hair removal making your legs extra sensitive, you must avoid sun exposure to the treated areas for 2-4 weeks prior to, and following, a laser hair removal session, which makes winter the optimum time to get bikini-ready as there is less chance of sun and you are more likely to cover up while trying to keep warm! You also need to bear in mind that your ideal results may take a few sessions, so why not start early to make sure you get the results you want by summer?!

Facial peels

Chemical peels have skyrocketed in popularity over the last few years, though many make the mistake of getting them during the summer. Your best bet is to start now! After treatment, your skin will be more sensitive to the sun, even in winter, so it is essential you use a factor 30 SPF sunscreen or higher. As the likelihood of sun decreases in winter, your skin can heal more safely. This also means you can book in your peels all through winter to get that glowing skin in time for the sun!

Laser skin treatments

If ageing, acne or too much time in the sun has left you with scars, wrinkles and lines, laser skin resurfacing may help your skin look younger and rejuvenated. If you indulge in treatments such as resurfacing, skin layers are removed in a very precise manner. Your skin’s sensitivity will dramatically increase, meaning you’ll need to avoid sun exposure and prevent the very things your treatment is fighting against, such as freckles, rosacea or hyperpigmentation. This is why the holiday season is the best time to give back to yourself in a safe way and with enough recovery time to enter the new year feeling like a new you.
