Dermal Fillers – Tear Trough Fillers

The skin around our eyes is very thin and delicate, making it one of the first places for the signs of premature ageing to set in. Collagen and elastin are the foundations to healthy, youthful skin, but as we age, these vital building blocks gradually deplete, with less and less new and healthy collagen and elastin being produced. This consequently leads to volume loss and unsightly sagging, wrinkling and folds. One of the most obvious examples would be the crow’s feet. These pesky fine lines extend from the corners of the eyes, particularly when we squint or laugh. While little can be done to prevent them from developing, there are treatment options available to improve the appearance of the skin for a more youthful look. Dermal fillers are also great for the tear trough area and the appearance of eye bags.

While you might immediately think that such procedures would be rather invasive and costly, that simply isn’t the case anymore thanks to modern aesthetics. Dermal fillers are a safe and effective non-surgical alternative that offer a temporary solution to ageing skin. This said, tear trough fillers are also a highly skilled treatment, so it is extremely important that you choose an advanced practitioner, or doctor such as Dr Taylor to perform the procedure.

Frequently Asked Questions

There is no set price for dermal filler treatments at North West Aesthetic as each and every treatment is unique to each patient. You require a unique approach to suit your individual needs, which is why we develop bespoke treatment plans taking into consideration your facial structure and the severity of your ageing skin. At an estimate, you can expect to pay around £200 per syringe.

Not only do dermal fillers volumise the skin and minimise the signs of premature ageing, but they also stimulate the production of new and healthy collagen and elastin. Our experts achieve this by injecting just beneath the surface of the skin to precisely plump out the surrounding skin tissue, and the hyaluronic acid within the fillers themselves possesses the properties to stimulate this new growth of collagen and elastin for ultimate anti-ageing benefits.

Although the results are only temporary, they are immediate. You will notice instant changes post-procedure, with optimum results developing over the course of 2 weeks. Your eyes will appear brighter and radiant, and the skin smooth and tight. To maintain your results, you will need to schedule repeat treatments as and when they are needed, which is usually at around 12 months after your first treatment.

This procedure that should last between 30 minutes maximum, including a prior consultation if needed.

This is a rather minimal treatment that will only require the one session, although, as mentioned above, the results are only temporary and more treatments will be required to maintain them.

There is no recovery time associated with dermal filler injections, they simply settle and the skin heals as you go about your daily routine, making for a very convenient treatment option.

Although this is a minimally-invasive procedure, it is to be expected to suffer slight swelling, bruising and redness post-treatment, although this is very temporary and should last no more than a few days.

If you're experiencing premature ageing around the eyes, particularly crow's feet and similar wrinkling, then you may well benefit from dermal filler injections, but the only way to fully determine your suitability for this type of treatment would be through a thorough consultation at NWA. Pregnant and breastfeeding women cannot safely undertake this type of treatment.
