Temple Hollowing

When we think about facial ageing, the first thing that springs to mind is usually fine lines and wrinkles, or volume loss and facial sagging, but there are other tell-tale ageing effects that you might not realise. In particular, here we are talking about the hollowing of the temples. While they are not the only area of the face that can “hollow” with age, they are often overlooked when it comes to facial rejuvenation. Hollow-looking temples can leave your face looking gaunt and unhealthy, as opposed to a more structured, youthful appearance.

The best way to combat this is through dermal temporal fillers. Dermal fillers are one of the most popular non-surgical aesthetic treatment around the world, offering a much-needed lift to dull, ageing skin without the need for more invasive options. At North West Aesthetics, we use fillers containing hyaluronic acid, a naturally occurring substance within the body that boosts the production of collagen and elastin, enhancing the results of your treatment. By applying a gentle amount of our hyaluronic acid-based fillers such as such as Juvederm Vycross, you can see instant results.

While the amount of filler needed can vary slightly and affect the cost of your treatment, most temple filler treatments at North West Aesthetics start from £199.

Your personalised treatment plan involves injecting a precise amount of filler into each temple on the side of the head in order to volumise and eliminate a hollow appearance. The fillers do contain a numbing ingredient to help minimise discomfort, although we may take extra steps to help with this.

Your temples will appear immediately lifted, for a more youthful structure to the face. The skin itself will begin to look brighter and radiant.

We like to call this our lunch break treatment as it is so quick and simple and could take as little as 30 minutes to complete.

You will only need one treatment to see the results you desire, although you may wish to schedule repeat treatments in the future to maintain your results. This is because dermal fillers are broken down over time within the body, making for a temporary treatment. Your first treatment should last 9-12 months.

There is little you’ll have to do to ensure a swift, successful recovery, and no downtime is needed. Any side effects will subside within a few days post-treatment.

Side effects include minimal swelling, bruising and redness, as well as sensitivity in and around the treatment area, all of which quickly subside within a few days.

It goes without saying that this treatment is only suitable for those looking for a solution to aged, sunken temples. Your suitability for this type of treatment is further determined through an in-depth consultation process at the NWA clinic with Dr Taylor, or one of our highly experienced practitioners.

At North West Aesthetics, our friendly and attentive team prioritise your wants and needs, offering bespoke treatment plans that work specifically for you.
