Dermal Fillers – Nasolabial Folds

Moderate to severe nose to mouth lines can create deep creases which become very noticeable in the face. The shadow that forms as a result of these lines can give the impression of a ‘droop’, and can distract from nicer facial features, such as the eyes and mouth. For this reason, we see many patients that come to us looking to rejuvenate their facial appearance and treat to reduce these lines.

At North West Aesthetics, we often use dermal fillers to treat nasolabial folds (nose to mouth lines), and marionette lines (the ‘sad’ lines that appear from the corner of the mouth). Fillers stimulate the body’s own collagen in the treated area, and therefore improve the results for the patient long term.

Dermal fillers can also be used to treat smokers lines around the mouth, to add volume and definition to the lips, and to enhance the cheeks.

Frequently asked questions

In order to give you an exact cost, we would first need to assess your concerns during an in-depth and attentive consultation at the North West Aesthetics clinic. This would allow our specialist team to determine the best course of action moving forward with your treatment, and develop a bespoke treatment plan that is best suited to achieve optimum results for you. We could then provide you with an exact cost, but you can expect to pay around £199.00-£319.00.

Dermal filler is a gel made from hyaluronic acid, which is a naturally occurring sugar found in the body. To improve the appearance of nasolabial folds and marionette lines, the filler is injected beneath the surface to plump up the surrounding tissue.

You can expect an enhanced facial appearance with much improved nose to mouth lines. The amazing thing about dermal fillers is that results can be seen immediately post treatment. It's important to remember, though, that your skin will settle over the following weeks, and this is when you will be able to see best results.

You can expect your dermal filler procedure to last around 30 minutes, depending on how much substance is required. This is including the consultation time.

The first treatment with dermal fillers should last 9-12 months. Thereafter, top-up treatments should only be required every 6-9 months, with some results from treatments lasting up to one year!

A recovery or downtime period is not necessary in this instance, allowing you to return to your daily routine with immediate effect.

Mainly, the possible side effects are related to the action of injecting the skin, not the dermal filler product itself. These side effects can include: minor swelling, redness, itching, and tenderness around the area that was injected. Occasionally, lumps appear in the treated area which can be immediately rectified with a massaging technique.

If you have moderate to severe nose to mouth lines, then you should be suitable for this treatment. However, if you happen to be pregnant or breastfeeding, dermal filler injections should not be undertaken and we would advise waiting until you have finished breastfeeding.

At North West Aesthetics, our friendly and attentive team prioritise your wants and needs, offering bespoke treatment plans that work specifically for you. We take the time to get to the bottom of your concerns via a thorough consultation, before then considering the best possible course of action. A high standard of treatment and care is imperative, which is why our staff are extensively trained and experienced in all aspects of advanced non-surgical aesthetics, led by renowned medical doctor, Dr David Taylor.
