How Does The Plasma Pen™ Work?
The Plasma Pen™ converts electrical energy into gaseous diatomic molecular nitrogen using a handheld probe. When held just above the surface of the skin, the ionisation of oxygen and nitrogen produces an abundance of charged particles, known as plasma, to inflict micro-injury to the epidermis. Thermal energy disrupts the deeper dermal structures within the skin, via a process known as fibroblasting. Fibroblasts are the most common type of cell found within connective tissue that produce collagen.
Upon receiving treatment, the skin immediately contracts at the surface and collagen production is stimulated within. Tiny crusts will form on the skin, however, these will fall off after a few days, leaving behind tighter, lifted skin. Over the next 12 weeks, further anti-ageing results are observed as collagen levels increase. The handheld device offers complete precision, allowing targeted areas of skin to be treated whilst leaving the surrounding tissue untouched.
Non-surgical Blepharoplasty
The Plasma Pen™ is an ideal treatment for those with lax skin above the eye that creates a hooded look, or for sagging skin under the eyes.
