All You Need to Know About Hair Loss Treatment For Men

If you’re a man and you’re dealing with hair loss, then you’ll probably want to investigate a hair loss treatment for men at North West Aesthetics. Male pattern baldness affects a high number of men in the UK. It can start from as young as the late teens or early twenties and it’s usually hereditary. Even if you don’t have male pattern baldness, as you age you may notice that your hairline is receding, especially around the crown. All three of these types of hair loss can cause a drop in confidence and a diminished level of self-esteem. Depending on your individual situation, there will be a treatment that is right for you.

At North West Aesthetics we offer two types of hair loss treatment for men – a follicular unit extraction (FUE) hair transplant and Minoxidil 5% with the addition of Propecia.

Which Hair Treatment Is Right For You?

Depending on the type of hair loss you have, one of the solutions that we offer may well be right for you. During your initial free consultation, Dr David Taylor will look at your requirements and expectations, along with your existing health status, your family history and a range of other personal factors. Based on this, we’ll do our best to find a solution that’s right for you.

Treating Hair Loss For Men With A Follicular Unit Extraction (FUE) Hair Transplant

The FUE hair loss treatment for men involves taking hairs from a donor area that has good hair growth and then transferring and implanting the hairs into the area where hair loss is occurring. We typically take hairs from the neck area, as this is usually where hairs with good growth can be found. FUE treatment uses a sophisticated, modern approach to achieve brilliant results. It’s carried out under local anaesthetic, making it a far less invasive option than follicular unit transplantation (or FUT), where cuts are made in the scalp.

Hair Loss Treatment For Men With Male Pattern Baldness Using A Combination of Minoxidil 5% and Propecia

While an FUE transplant offers the best results by far, it might be that prescription options are better suited to you.

Minoxidil solution and foam are used to encourage hair growth and it’s for this reason that they are a good hair loss treatment for men to treat male pattern baldness. It’s worth bearing in mind that this treatment isn’t effective in counteracting a receding hairline as it will not work if the follicles no longer produce new strands of hair.

The medication Propecia reduces the effect of hormones on hair follicles, which can prevent and even reverse hair loss. Combining the application of Minoxidil with taking a Propecia tablet once a day is an excellent solution for men who have male pattern baldness.
