Dermaroller for Acne and Scarring

Rejuvenate your skin with Dermaroller treatments.

Acne is an extremely common skin condition which affects a huge amount of the population, with around 95% of people aged 11-30 affected by acne at some point in their lives. For those that suffer from acne, everyday situations can be an extremely debilitating venture, with a large amount of those who suffer from it having decreased self-esteem and confidence.

If life wasn’t hard enough for those unfortunate enough to have this common skin concern, acne often leaves a physical reminder behind – scarring. Acne scarring occurs when too much collagen is produced whilst the wounds of active acne (created by touching or squeezing spots) are healing, often leaving the skin looking bumpy.

At North West Aesthetics, we offer Dermaroller treatments to manage the appearance of acne scarring and active acne, leaving your skin looking smoother and more radiant.

Why do we get acne?

Most commonly, we develop acne because of hormonal changes in our body, namely those that occur during puberty, but acne can start at any age. Hormonal changes can cause grease levels in the body to increase and create abnormal levels of oil and sebum.

Acne can also be a family trait. It’s likely that if your parents had acne, you will too.

Other hormonal episodes that can trigger acne are pregnancy and the menstrual cycle. Both of these things include changing fluctuations that can have adverse effects on your body, one of these being acne. Women may often see their skin type change dramatically when experiencing menstruation – an increase in spots or suddenly having more oily skin.

How does Dermaroller help?

Dermaroller treatments at North West Aesthetics are carried out by using a handheld device to carefully and accurately create small channels with microneedles. This minor trauma triggers the natural healing abilities of the skin and promotes the production of collagen to give you a clearer and healthier complexion.

Your self-healing mechanisms will kick in to give your skin a rejuvenating boost, leaving the appearance of acne and acne scarring reduced.
