Dermaplaning

Dermaplaning is a cosmetic procedure that removes the top layers of your skin to improve complexion by removing “peach fuzz” and dead skin cells.

With age, the Cellular Renewal Factor (CRF), or the speed with which your skin produces new skin cells and sloughs off old, damaged cells on the surface, significantly decelerates. This results in buildup on the surface which can appear dull, and even contribute to other skin concerns such as fine lines and breakouts. Dermaplaning gently removes dead skin cells and vellus hairs on the surface to assist skin cell renewal. This results in beautiful, glowing skin with improved tone and texture.

How does Dermaplaning work?

Using a sterile, medical scalpel, the dead skin cells and “peach fuzz” on the skin’s surface is gently exfoliated away, revealing healthy, glowing skin below – all you’ll feel is a dry, scratching sensation! Dermaplaning can be done as a stand-alone treatment or as part of a facial to maximise results.

The procedure takes roughly 45-60 minutes to complete and to maintain your glowing results, we recommend dermaplaning should be performed every 4-6 weeks as your skin starts a new cycle at 6 weeks.
Although there is no downtime, your skin may be a little sensitive – so be sure to wear some gentle sun protection! Your skin may also be a little red to begin with, but don’t worry, this will only last a couple of days!

What are the benefits?

Dermaplaning results in healthy, glowing skin with improved tone and texture. This allows for smooth makeup application and deeper penetration of topical skin care products. This makes dermaplaning a pre-event favourite to keep you looking your best!
